Cellular mechanisms of learning and memory processes during postnatal development
NBLab recent studies have shown that long-term plasticity processes are involved in working memory and recency memory functions.

Adaptations in brain disorders and investigation of possible treatments
The prefrontal cortex is a brain area that continues to develop until adulthood. We still lack significant knowledge abou the developmental events that take place in the prefrontal cortex from birth to adulthood. Several neurodevelopmental disorders, such as schizophrenia, emerge as a result of defects during early development, which manifest in adolescence or adulthood. Understanding the early life adaptations will lead to development of better diagnostic tools and more effective treatments.

Behavioral techniques
We use several behavioral tasks to study anxiety, learning and memory processes and social behavior.

Electrophysiological techniques
We use the brain slice preparation for spontaneous and evoked field potential recordings and for patch-clamp recordings.
